Spinning the WWW

An old friend of this blog, Mike Brill, sends this scan where my name --and artwork-- appears together with those of big artists whom I deeply admire: Hughes (though it's bad written), Kubert, Noto and Green.
I am very very grateful for this type of sendings, because I do not have many references of all the places where my work has been published.
Thank you Mike!

I (almost) know who you are...

... at least, I know where you're coming from. It's very gratifying to have so many viewers, so many friends.
Thanks so much!

Need a hand?

Detail of Mool's page, series published in The Realm magazine. You could have seen some examples of my artwork in this series. In this occasion I want to make notice about the use of the manual textures to differentiate objects and the sensation of depth obtained in the second panel thanks to the different sizes of lines.
Oh, there are some extreme violence too, but we will speak about it another day...

Double page and a Devil

"What exactly is a double-page spread? When you open your comic, the two pages facing each other create a spread. When the pages coordinate, they're considered a double-page spread. It's basically two layouts that coordinate through color and/or theme to create a unified effect, as opposed to two single layouts that stand alone.

From an old Daredevil's submission.
Please: note the detailed pencil work. The devil has no power over the art!

She-devil (and the sword)

"Red Sonja, the She-Devil with a Sword, is a fictional character, a low fantasy sword and sorcery heroine created by Roy Thomas and Barry Windsor-Smith. She first appeared in Conan the Barbarian #23 (Marvel Comics). Red Sonja has become the archetypical example of the fantasy figure of a fierce and stunningly beautiful female barbarian who typically wears armor resembling a bikini or lingerie..."
An old commission drawn for a fanzine on the character. No metal-bikini this time.

Mistress Ouish

"At the center of this foggy phosphorescence, a tall woman reclined upon polar furs, the cushions strewn about her feet embossed with intricate frost patterns. The glimmering blur of her surroundings erased the wrinkles from her skin and made her ageless, but when she spoke her voice was old. Her name was Ouish, and she was the mistress and proprietor of the House Without Clocks".
Preliminary study of the character for Alan Moore's Hypothetical Lizard, (vaguely inspired by Viveca Lindfors, I must admit).

Little wings

"Darkoth (a.k.a. Darkoth the Death Demon) is a fictional character, supervillain appearing in the Marvel Comics universe. His first appearance was in Fantastic Four series 1 #142, (January 1974), and he was created by Gerry Conway and Rich Buckler."
I posted some time ago an illustration I did about the character for the Marvel Trading Cards game. This pin-up was drew for a fan, who asked for it. And I must admit that I still love the little wings on his hoofs (I mean: Darkoth's hoofs, not the fan's!)
